Western Electric 3 Jug
Western Electric type 21, "3 jug" or "Long Distance Telephone" Most phones in the 1890s had 1 or maybe 2 battery jars. This antique telephone holds 3 which increases the voltage and enables conversations over a much greater distance. It is equiped with a Western Electric "long pole" receiver and a 7 digit beveled edge Western Electric transmitter. The wood is walnut.
