From my old neighborhood in Midwood Brooklyn. Back then the boroughs had the 212 area code. The 859 Exchange was ULster 9. This 1C rebuilt in 1973 has a very early dull chrome faceplate. Within the Bell logo it says "Bell System". This logo vanished very early on. The metal instruction plate was added (1973). This is a 10 Cent pre-pay phone. The upper lock is a 29A-13 and vault lock is a 30C. Note the early gray colored handset with the rare black grommet.
