Green 1968 1A NY Tel Co Westchester loc C-1

Green Western Electric very early model 1A payphone made in 1968. Note the relay at the top left of the chassis and the coin signal transmitter at the top right of the coin chute. Due to coin signal scams this transmitter allowed the operator to actually hear the coin in the chute. The totalizer has no provision for DTF (dial tone first). Also, note the short coin box that sits on a spacer and the metal Bell System seal. The upper lock is a 29A-24 and the lower is a 30A.
