Western Electric D18057 Stars & Stripes
Western Electric D18057, "Design Line" telephone. Western Electric refurbished out of service payphones, refinished them and rewired them to work as regular phones. Some were given as retirement gifts and others were sold. When they were sold the buyer was only buying the casing, all electrical parts still belonged to the Bell System. This one really is a great time capsule bringing back the patriotism at the time of the "Bicentennial" in 1976.
