Western Electric 162A 1 loc R6-4

Western Electric 162A, 5 cent manual post-pay. One of the first of the payphones or paystations manufactured by Western Electric once they separated from Gray. It is basically a copy of the Gray #50K but it is manufactured with Western Electric parts. The upper housing and the lower vault area are Western Electric parts and the back is Gray. All the parts are interchangeable between Gray and Western Electric, I've seen several like this where a 161A or 162A have both WE and Gray parts. This is how they were put into service and as we can see came out of service.
