Gray 23A

Gray #23A shelf or counter mount 5, 10, 25 cent coin collector. It is attached to a Western Electric 20B antique candlestick telephone. When the operator asked for a deposit a coin dropped would strike & ring a bell once for a nickel, twice for a dime, a quarter would hit a gong and make a bong sound. The sound would resonate through the case, then through the connecting arm into the phone and would be picked up by the transmitter. From the transmitter the sound is transmitted to the operator.
